A very quick post from Cala en Porter

It´s HOT HOT HOT, and the pool is lovely!
Cala en Porter is a nice old resort - cliffs and beach. Loads of villas. Ours is quite poshe - we´re just chillin out and having lots of Gin and Fanta Limon & BBQs!
What more can we say - back soon!

Race Day Tomorrow!

Can't believe it's come around already! Am I fit and prepared - don't know! We'll find out tomorrow at the Leeds 10k Run For All race! The weather isn't too bad - it'll be raining later on but should be ok in the morning - the race starts at 9am.....fingers crossed!

Hmmmmm!

I was trying to put our google calendar online for a laugh in that last post but something with the permissions is wrong - don't know what. I'll have to have a further play. Anyway, I'm in a bit of a harumphing mood this morning. 1st things 1st - bought a fabby new pair of running shoes yesterday - New balance 858 (stability) - had to get the men's ones for the wideness of my feet(!!!) but have been out for a run with them and I have to say, I'm disappointed! The shoe themselves are very comfy - BUT - as evidenced by the video they took of me running whilst I was trying on various different trainers, my right foot tips over as I run, hence I need shoes with a strong 'stability' component. These are the right sort of shoe, but obviously this morning, my calves and ankles have been tipped in different directions than usual - so they're complaining. BIG TIME. My feet are fine - nice breeze through the meshy toe bit as well compared to my previous pair (Saucony Stabil) but I felt like someone had tied lead weights to my legs today. I hope this improves with time or else I'll have just bought a very expensive pair of shelf ornaments! I was planning 5 miles today and only managed 3.5 as I had to cut down the run due to the lower leg ache. EEEEEEEEEK.

Well our oven has been a little pikey for a while (after being on for a while / too hot there used to be SMOKE coming out it (which as we know is not good).

Had a nice start to the bank holiday weekend - a nice BBQ at ours to get the day off to a swing, then we got a cab down to the footie ground and in we went to the Kaiser Chiefs concert!
It was a very good atmosphere - the stage was set up on the South stand and we were all standing on the pitch! It was manic - very crowded - an hour to queue for the loo, and longer for the beer. I'm not a major fan, but I did know quite a few songs - more than I thought I would anyway! Top night out and some really good company!

WOW - furthest run ever today!

It's a lovely warm Saturday morning here in Leeds and as I didn't feel quite up to my Friday trot out yesterday, I decided to get off my ar*e and run this morning. I've been playing on 'Running Ahead' with various routes for the next few weeks - upping a half kilometre every time to increase the time I spend out running so i'll be ready for the 10k. I seem to be able to increase the distances OK - 2 weeks ago I wasn't getting to 2 miles, now I'm over 4 - but I'm getting slower and slower! At this rate I'll be finishing the race backwards! never mind - I ran for the longest time and distance ever this morning so that's always a fun one! 6.7k and 57 minutes.....It's not a marathon, and I'm no Paula Radcliffe, but it'll do for me! I even felt quite good at the end - mind you the last 2 miles is downhill! Always a boost.
Off to the shops to get burgers and stuff for our BBQ later on this afternoon - then it's the Kaisers tonight at Elland Road. Don't you just love bank holiday Saturdays???
