Saw a very cool thing as we were waiting for the bus into Christchurch one day on our hols. A little interactive bus stop.
You press the number of the bus you're waiting for, and then a light flashes as to how many minutes away that bus is! Simple to operate and low cost to run (Led lights).
All you'd need would be a connection to the database. It could be wireless. Can't tell from the pole.
So as you can see, the no 60 to New Brighton (!) is only 14 minutes away! Cool huh?
It was quite accurate too. I was checking it out with the various buses due at the stop before ours was due, and they all were pretty much to the minute.
I wonder how complicated it would be to implement in the UK?
